Maria is a multi-lingual, highly skilled, warm and compassionate human being. She is a registered psychologist and a certified neuroscience practitioner with many years of extensive experience working in both public and private mental health settings with adults, children, adolescents and people from diverse backgrounds. Maria provides a caring, supportive and relaxed environment for clients to discuss their issues. She aims to reduce her client’s distress and bring out the best in each individual. Maria reminds her clients that issues in life are often opportunities in which to learn, grow and improve from. She is focused on motivating clients to identify their strengths and use them to cope with daily issues. She also helps her clients set their goals and empowers them with skills to facilitate success. She believes that each individual has the ability to achieve his/ her full potential.

As a neuroscience practitioner and psychologist, Maria also utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy , neuro-psychotherapy: a model of depression/ trauma; problem solving skills and training; Assertive Communication Skills Training/ self esteem enhancement; anger management; social skills training; Stress Management and Parenting Education.

Maria helps clients deal with a range of issues, including grief, loss, depression, stress, anxiety, relationship and marriage counselling, behavioral issues , eating and sleeping disorders, chronic pain management, personality disorders, workplace issues (bullying and redundancy), PTSD, OCD or many other psychological condition(s).
